The staff of the Engineering Maintenance and Construction Department at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has begun to rehabilitate the Abbasiya School, one of the schools in the Karbala Governorate, which was in need of maintenance and development work. These works are part of its program aimed at contributing to the advancement of the educational reality and creating a suitable environment for students, through the rehabilitation of neglected schools.
The supervisor of these works, Mr. Hassan Abd al-Hussayn, explained to the al-Kafeel Network: “After an appeal from the people of the area, the families of students and the school administration, was received by the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, the Holy Shrine has formed a specialized technical committee affiliated with our department, in order to assess the damages of this school and begin its rehabilitation work and contribute to providing a suitable learning environment for its students."
He added that: "The works are continuing according to an implementation schedule that has been set for this purpose, and it will include cladding the school corridors with a total area of (300) square meters, in addition to cladding school classrooms with an area of (500) square meters. These works were preceded by preparatory work that included removing the old tiles and leveling its ground."
He indicated: "The works also included painting the walls of the school with an area estimated at (600) square meters, after it had been prepared and the old and damaged paint removed, in addition to that, the middle courtyard of the school, which has an area of (250) square meters, was prepared and clad."
