He lost six members of his family in the Nasiriyah fire incident.

The fire incident of the epidemiological isolation hall in al-Hussayn Teaching Hospital in Dhi Qar Governorate, left great pain behind many stories and tragic events, which caused a severe wound that is difficult to be forgotten.

During its visit to the victims' families, the delegation of the al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine extended its condolences.

The head of this delegation; Sheikh Adel al-Wakeel was astonished of meeting a great man, whose belief was beyond the pain of his wounds: The head of a family was saddened by the loss of six members of his family.. One of the dozens of heart-breaking stories in the burning of the isolation hall in Al-Hussayn Hospital (peace be upon him) in Nasiriyah.

Sheikh Al-Wakeel tells what happened to him with this afflicted family:

After we performed the duty of condolences and stood up to ask permission to leave, an old man stood beside me.

His tenacity and composure captured the hearts as he spoke to us.. Until the last moments and while we were saying goodbye, his eyes fell on us, and started crying and we were surprised..

It is not easy to find a man of his age crying, especially as we witnessed during our visit his tenacity and patience.

He burst into weeping, groans rumbled in his chest. His tears are shed profusely and without ceasing, perhaps because he found in us relief for his anguish, in the name of Him who sacrificed his joy and redeemed his brother (the hero of the Euphrates).

We had nothing but sympathy, standing with him with all we could, and with broken hearts we left him, and we wished that the pain would leave him.. We belong to God and to Him we shall return.

This great man has lost six members of his family, and despite all that, this man told us while wiping his tears: "Convey my greetings to al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), as they calamity is greater than ours." It is like he recalled what happened to Imam al-Hussayn, his family and his companions (peace be upon them), and found comfort in their tragedy while he lives this calamity.

The Sheikh concluded his speech: Whoever minimizes the loyalty and devotion of the Iraqi people to the people of the House of Prophethood (peace be upon them), I will say to him: You are very delusional.
