The Umm al-Baneen Women's Library enhances its library with more than 20,000 diverse sources.

The Umm al-Baneen (peace be upon her) Women's Library of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has enhanced its repository with more than (20) thousand diverse sources from various scientific and cognitive fields.

Ms. Asmaa Raad, responsible for the women's library, stated to the Al-Kafeel Network: "This work falls within the framework of achieving the library's development plan to raise the level of library service provided to its recipients, which aims to update and develop its information repositories, and provide the opportunity for the researchers and readers, to benefit from the largest group of reference books, databases, information, modern sources, and scientific and humanitarian books by the most prominent publishers inside and outside Iraq.

She added: "What was added to the women's library was characterized by diversity and uniqueness, as it included more than (14,900) periodicals, (60,000) e-books, and (105) sources available in thirty languages ​​in the fields of health, biology, environment and innovation research, as well as legal research in both paper and electronic formats.”

Raad indicated that: "The loan unit in the Women's Library has made an inventory of both paper and electronic sources and contents, and monitored the updates it needs from scientific sources that constitute a qualitative addition to serve the beneficiaries."

She concluded: "Benefiting from modern technologies in the field of library services and information centers, and harnessing scientific achievements, is one of the ways to improve the level of library services and tasks."
