Sistani's office expectations for the new moon of the holy month of Muharram.

The office of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sayed Ali al-Sistani, according to the new moon timings booklet that it issued for the year 1443 AH, expected that the crescent of the sacred month of Muharram would be clearly seen on Monday evening (29 Dhu al-Hijjah 1442 AH) corresponding to (August 9, 2021), in the city skyline of Najaf at sunset at 6:52.

It is noteworthy that these calculations according to the times of the crescent moon do not represent the opinion of the religious authority, but are merely astronomical expectations, because the beginning of the lunar months depend on the confirmation of the vision of the crescent moon, so we hope that all the faithful will monitor the crescent moons according to the data mentioned in this brochure and inform us of vision if possible.
