Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) asks forgiveness for those who mourn for him.

Imam as-Sadeq (peace be upon him) said : "When the month of Muharram’s Moon appears, angels will open up the al-Hussayn’s bloody shirt in heavens, while it is torn by the strike of the swords, and simmered in blood. So we and our followers can see it, not by the eyes of our heads, but by the eyes of our hearts, therefore our eyes burst into tears."

And it is narrated on the authority of Imam as-Sadeq (peace be upon him) that when the crescent of Ashura begins, his grief and his weeping over the affliction of his grandfather al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) intensify, and people come to him from all sides and places to console him, weep and lament over his affliction, and when they have finished crying, he says to them:

“O people! Know that al-Hussayn is alive with his Lord, receiving provision from wherever pleases him. And he (peace be upon him) always looks at the place of his death and the martyrs there, and sees his visitors, those who weep for him, and those who hold a mourning council for him, knowing them, their names, the names of their fathers, their ranks, and their homes in Paradise. And he sees the one who weeps for him and asks forgiveness for him, and he asks his grandfather, father, mother and brother to ask forgiveness for those who weep for him and those who hold a mourning council for him, and he says, “If my visitor and mourner knew this, he would return happy to his family, for he does not get up from his place unless all his sins are forgiven and he becomes [without sins] like the day he was born.”
