The al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine supplies the Hussayni service processions with foodstuffs.

The Hussayni Rites and Processions Department and the Public Relations Department of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, began distributing food items to the Hussayni service processions that are honored to offer their services to visitors during the holy month of Muharram, to contribute to filling part of their needs.

Head of the Hussayni Rites and Processions Department, Haj Riyadh Ni'mah al-Salman, told Al-Kafeel Network, "This initiative is part of a series of initiatives and steps planned by the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, to support Hussayni processions in the governorate, whether on the service or mourning side, as it provided dry food items needed by the processions. In addition to a number of sheep to contribute to filling part of the necessary needs of these processions, in order to feed the visitors coming to the holy shrines of Karbala during the holy month of Muharram.

He added, "The distribution process is being carried out under the supervision of the Public Relations Department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and our department, according to a plan developed for this purpose, which will include a large number of processions in the old city and its suburbs."

Al-Salman concluded that: “The rituals of Ashura in the holy city of Karbala, whether those performed by the mourning processions or the services provided by the Hussayni service processions to the visitors, are exclusive to the people of the province and their processions. Therefore, the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine made this initiative to contribute in this service for visitors, who intend to visit Imam al-Hussayn and his brother, Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them)."
