Washing, perfuming, and furnishing the holy sanctuary and courtyard of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).

In the late evening of yesterday, Monday (14 Muharram 1443 AH) corresponding to (August 23, 2021), an extensive and comprehensive campaign was conducted to wash, perfume and furnish the Holy Sanctuary and Courtyard of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) and its surroundings, after completing the Ziyarat of the tenth of the sacred month of Muharram and the conclusion of the mourning ritual of Twayreej Run and the commemoration of the burial of the holy bodies.
All the staff of the Sanctuary's Care Division and the Holy Shrine Department, as well as cadres from the Service Affairs Department and Sayed servants, participated in these works, in the presence of a member of the Board of Directors of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, Sayed. Mustafa Dea' al-Din, and a number of its department heads.
Sayed. Mustafa Dea' al-Din told Al-Kafeel Network: “We were honored this evening, after the conclusion of the Ashura mourning ceremonies, by performing the washing and perfuming the shrine of the Master Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), which we used to do annually. We chose to work in the late hours of the night because of the small number of visitors at that time, which facilitates the process of washing. And prior to these works, we performed the Ziyarat of Ashura and of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) collectively, to seek permission to start these works. And in conclusion, we prayed God Almighty to bestow upon Iraq and its people health and safe."
For his part, the official of the Sanctuary's Division, Haj Nizar Ghani Khalil, added: “The works inside the holy sanctuary included cleaning and perfuming it, starting with the holy grid using special materials that help maintain its luster. and then the surrounding spaces down to the four surrounding hallways, where the floor and walls were cleaned and sterilized, in order to preserve its luster and remove any dirt in it that may affect its shape, we have used special materials that combined the detergent with the disinfectant. Then we furnished the sanctuary with its special carpet."
In the same context, the assistant head of the Holy Sanctuary Care Department, Mr Zain al-'Abideen Adnan, explained that: “These works were carried out on the holy sanctuary of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) after the carpets that were laid for the days of the Ashura mourning were removed, gathered and sent to the washing plant of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine. Then the cleaning works started in sequential manner according to each section. And then after completion, it was furnished with new carpets and the contents of the sanctuary, such as partitions and holders for Ziyarat and prayer books, were put in place."
