A representative of the World Health Organization from Karbala: We are assured of the health situation in the governorate.

The representative of the World Health Organization in Iraq, Dr. Ahmed Zouiten, visited the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, to find out about its latest medical and health preparations for the Ziyarat Arba'een.

The representative of the World Health Organization in Iraq, Dr. Ahmed Zouiten, during his visit, said: "We are assured of the health situation in Karbala, after we witnessed this huge amount of preparations by the Ministry of Health, the Karbala Governorate, and the holy shrines," adding that: "This visit to Karbala comes to find out the latest preparations for the upcoming Ziyarat Arba'een, and to determine the extent of support and assistance that the World Health Organization can provide on this occasion."

And the representative of the World Health Organization in Iraq stated that: “The number of visitors during the Ziyarat Arba'een may reach (15) million people, and this is one of the largest humanitarian gatherings on earth. Therefore, we seek to combine all efforts by the Ministry of Health, Karbala Governorate, the Holy Shrines and the World Health Organization, to reduce of the dangers arising from the gathering of visitors in one area."

Zouiten pointed out that: "There is a conference that will be held soon to study all the outcomes of the upcoming Ziyarat Arba'een, pointing out that: "Another international conference will be held at the beginning of next year under the auspices of the Health Organization in Iraq, to ​​find out all aspects of religious Ziyarats and crowds."

For his part, Dr. Osama Abdel Hassan, head of the Medical Affairs Division at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, said: "The representative of the World Health Organization in Iraq, Dr. Ahmed, was briefed on the various medical and preventive means provided by the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, in addition to informing him of the special preparations for the Ziyarat of Arba'een."

Abdul Hassan added that: "The knowledge of the World Health Organization and its representative in Iraq about the means of the holy shrines, in particular the al-Abbas's (p) threshold and the preventive medical plan that it has set, by providing field hospitals and medical units, constitutes a great support for the efforts made by the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine in this field."
