The Journey of the Walkers to al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) begins, from the sea to Karbala.

The province of Basra is the first starting point for the visitors of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) for the Ziyarat Arba'een, as since the first day of Safar, the march of the Hussayni love started from the area of Ras al-Bisha in the al-Faw District far south of Basra (681 km from Karbala), walking on foot to the holy city of Karbala to commemorate the Ziyarat Arba'een, with a large participation of the mourners from inside Iraq and others from the neighboring countries, as this province overlooks the border ports with Kuwait and Iran in addition to its international airport, all of whom they walk about 25 to 40 km per day, each according to his capacity.

On this occasion and for the ninth year in a row, the Arba'een March Festival was held this Monday morning (29 Muharram 1443 AH) corresponding to September 6, 2021, under the slogan: (From the Sea to Karbala), which is held by the Institution of Rites of the Office of the Late Religious Authority; Sayed Mohamad Sa'id al-Hakim, in cooperation with the Hussayni processions in Basrah and the governmental authorities and the people of Al-Faw district. The festival was attended by many scholars, official and social figures, and a group of visitors.

The festival included a speech of the organizing committee, the recitation of a number of Hussayni poems, and also included the raising and carrying of a special black banner on which was written (walking with loyalty to al-Hussayn from the sea to Karbala), to announce the launch of the immortal march of the Arba'een.
