A rehabilitation campaign witnessed by the Sheikh al-Kulayni Service Complex.

The Sheikh al-Kulayni service complex of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, which is located on the road leading to the city of Karbala, from the direction of Baghdad, witnessed a massive rehabilitation campaign for a number of its service facilities, which were done by the complex's staffs in cooperation with the Engineering Maintenance Department.

According to the official of the complex, Mr. Ali Mahdi al-Safi: “These works are part of the preparations for the Ziyarat Arba'een, as we worked to invest part of it as places to receive visitors and volunteers participating in providing services to them, in addition to other service and development matters.”

He added: "Two halls, each of 200 square meters, were built for the dedicated space for men, while in the space for women, a second floor was built on one of its buildings, to be used as housing for volunteers, while adding another space to serve female visitors."

Al-Safi explained: "Because of the high temperatures during this Ziyarat season, we exploited the space in front of the complex because there are visitors who take it as a resting place. This space has been prepared by using iron roofs covered with cloth [of Saran] that would block or reduce the effect of sunlight, to provide shade for visitors".

He continued, "The complex will witness the inauguration of a desalination plant (RO) implemented by the Water Division of the Engineering Projects Department at the Holy Shrine, to contribute to supplying the Hussayni processions with water in addition to the residents of the neighboring areas."

And he concluded: "In parallel with these works, there are rehabilitation and development works for all the service joints of the complex, such as the accommodation halls, the host restaurant, bathrooms, gardens, and others, to be ready to receive visitors coming from the Baghdad road."

It is worth noting that the Sheikh al-Kulayni complex is one of the service cities affiliated to the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, which mobilizes its efforts to accommodate and serve the millions of visitors during the major Ziyarat seasons, especially those who are traveling to the city of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon them).
