Implanting a smart lens for a 10-year-old girl at the al-Kafeel Hospital.

A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine announced its success in restoring sight to a blind girl.
Dr. Salam Al-Qar'awi, a specialist in ophthalmology at the hospital, said: "Our medical team succeeded in implanting a trifocal IOL for a 10-year-old girl," explaining that "the operation was performed under local anesthesia."
Dr. Al-Qar'awi added: "After the operation, the girl was able to see clearly at long and close distances, without the need to use medical glasses," noting that "the operation took only ten minutes."
