63 foreign processions participated in the commemoration of the Ziyarat Arba’een this year.

The head of the Department of Rituals and Hussayni Processions in Iraq and in the Islamic world of the two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them); Haj Riyadh Ni'mah al-Salman, has announced: "The number of the Arab and foreign processions participating in the condolence and service side of the Ziyarat Arba'een, and participated along the Iraqis to commemorate this occasion is 63 Arab and foreign processions registered in the database of the Department within the administrative borders of the province of Karbala."

He added: "These processions are from: KSA, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon, Sultanate Oman, India, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, Sweden, UK, Netherlands, Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania."

And he added: "These processions are either Latm or Zinjeel mourning processions, or service processions that serve the visitors heading to the Ziyarat of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) through providing food, beverages, medical treatments and other service matters, while others participate in both service and the mourning rituals."

Adding: "The department has facilitated the work of these processions to perform their rituals with ease."

It is noteworthy that before the Iraqi government’s measures to deal with the arrivals to Ziyarat Arba'een as a result of the repercussions of the Corona epidemic, there was a wider participation and presence in terms of the number of countries and processions in this blessed Ziyarat.
