The ice factory of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine announced that it produced 40,568 ice blocks during the Ziyarat Arba'een, which were distributed free of charge to visitors and service processions honored to serve them according to a special plan drawn up for this purpose, which contributes to meeting this need especially as a result of high temperatures.
The director of the factory, Engineer Feras, told Al-Kafeel Network, “Based on the directives of the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, the factory has taken a series of measures aimed at providing this material, and accordingly, the factory’s staff began a long time ago to increase production and keep part of it in special freezers, to fill the shortage that may occur during the Ziyarat, due to the increase in demand for ice because of the rise in temperatures.
He added: "The produced ice blocks were distributed to:
- Service complexes belonging to the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, which are located on all axes leading to the holy city of Karbala.
- Service processions spread on the roads used by visitors.
- The Water Division of the Service Affairs Department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, for the purpose of cooling the water that visitors to the holy shrine drink, and on processions and nearby sites, in addition to the people of the old city.
- The security forces in charge of implementing the security plan for the Ziyarat Arba'een.
