Successful surgery on vertebrae and spinal cord of a patient in her forties at Al-Kafeel Hospital.

A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine succeeded in stabilizing the vertebrae and liberating the spinal cord of a forty-year-old woman.
The specialist in neurosurgery at the hospital, Dr. Khaled al-Sarraj said, "The patient was suffering from a severe herniated disc, which led to a compression of the spinal cord."
He added, "Through the surgical operation, we opened the vertebrae, implanted artificial cartilage, and completely liberated the nerve roots."
Al-Sarraj continued, "The operation was carried out successfully and the patient is in good health," noting that "the role of modern medical technologies available at the Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital in addition to the skill of its medical staff contributed greatly to the success of this operation."
