Cataloging and Information Systems Center Updates Data of 1860 Iraqi Libraries on the IFLA Map of World Libraries.

The Cataloging and Information Systems Center of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has been able to update the data of (1860) Iraqi libraries and upload them to the map of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions "IFLA", to open a wide knowledge and information window for libraries within an accurate database, allowing recipients all over the world to see what they contain, and to raise the name of Iraq on this global specialized site.

The director of the mentioned center, Mr. Hassanein al-Mousawi, told al-Kafeel Network, "This project, which was adopted free of charge by the center, is being implemented in Iraq for the first time. It aims to activate the terms of the agreements and understandings established by the Center for Cataloging and Information Systems of the Library and House of Manuscripts of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, with the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions "IFLA", because the Center is one of the prominent and influential members in it."

He added: "The libraries that carried the name of Iraq, along with the major global libraries affiliated with IFLA, were (national - public - university - school - private - and others).
