The farms of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine present their crops for the autumn season.

The Department of Agricultural Affairs and Livestock Resources of the Al-Kafeel Company for Public Investments, one of the companies of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, announced that its farms have started supplying their vegetable crops for the autumn season to the local market, and supplying them with the crops they need to contribute to relying on the local product without the need for the importer.
The head of the aforementioned department, Engineer Ali Maz'al Layedh, told Al-Kafeel Network: "The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine paid great attention to the agricultural sector and gave it a wide area, in an effort to support agricultural production and land reclamation, with the aim of increasing the local product and not relying on the importer, in a way that contributes and achieves self-sufficiency, and employs the largest number of manpower specialized in this important and vital field.”
He added: "The crops produced by these farms are what the citizen constantly needs, such as: (tomatoes, eggplant, potatoes, cucumbers, cold and hot peppers, cherry tomatoes, trees), and some other leafy crops, such as: (green and red cabbage, Kohlrabi, red, yellow and white onions), and they are planted in (4) greenhouses with multiple spaces, each with an area of ​​(5000) square meters, in addition to (95) single greenhouses with an area of ​​516 square meters in addition to other spaces."
Layedh emphasized that: "The produced crops are distinguished by their quality as they are environmentally friendly crops (IPM), without the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, and the reliance on bio-pesticides and organic fertilizers produced by Khair Al-Joud Company. These are useful, environmentally friendly and abundant products of nutritional value, which have proven their success as they gave the crop a quality in taste, in addition to its control of viral and fungal diseases and its suitability with the weather in Iraq, which contributed to covering a large part of the market need.”
In the same context, Engineer Falah al-Fatli, Director of Marketing Department at Khair Al-Joud Company for Modern Agriculture Technology, confirmed that: "The specifications that characterize the crops of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine farms made them a requirement for the local market, as they are crops with a high nutritional value as a result of using the latest technologies and modern agricultural programs, In terms of irrigation, fertilization, managing greenhouses and providing the appropriate environment for the growth of the crop, in addition to the presence of a specialized cadre with high experience in this field, and these farms were a successful field of experiments for the organic fertilizers and pesticides produced by our company, which reflected positively on the productivity and quality of the crop.”
It is noteworthy that these farms are a living model for the reclamation of barren lands and transforming them into rich and productive green oases. And they are considered one of the modern and advanced farms, as it was supplied with the latest agricultural scientific methods and techniques used in the countries of the world, which resulted in harvesting an abundant crop of nutritional value and environment-friendly, which contributed to covering a large part of the market need according to each agricultural season.
