The conclusion of the activities of the second edition of the International Aesthetic Heritage Exhibition

The hall of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine hosted this Monday morning (November 22, 2021) corresponding to 16 Rabi' al-Thani 1443 AH), the closing of the second edition of the International Aesthetic Heritage Exhibition, which was organized by the Department of Islamic and Human Knowledge Affairs at the holy shrine, and lasted for four days in one of the covered areas of the courtyard between the two holy shrines.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, Engineer Mohamad Abd al-Hussayn al-Ashigar and his deputy, a number of members of its board of directors and a group of calligraphers participating in the exhibition.
The closing ceremonies began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah in memory for the souls of the martyrs, and listening to the Iraqi national anthem and the anthem (the melody of pride).
After that, Dr. Hussein Ali Jarmat presented a research paper on the calligraphic formations and the philosophy of Islamic decoration.
Followed by a speech to the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine delivered by Secretary-General, in which he said, "The Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine is used to the revival of Islamic heritage and the dissemination of religious knowledge, through the establishment of scientific conferences, seminars and professional workshops periodically, and has established specialized centers for the revival of heritage, and support them materially and morally, believing in the importance of introducing the heritage identity, and the need to adhere to it, and present it to subsequent generations in the best way.”
He added: "The International Aesthetic Heritage Exhibition, in which more than twenty calligraphers from Iraq, Egypt, Iran and China participated, with nearly seventy paintings, is one of the testimonies of the revival of heritage, because it specializes in the art of Arabic calligraphy and Islamic decoration, two of the most beautiful Arabic and Islamic arts that represent part of the heritage of this nation.”
And he concluded: "We extend our thanks and a lot of gratitude to everyone who participated, attended or contributed to the success of this exhibition, and we urge the brothers in the Department of Islamic and Human Knowledge Affairs - especially the exceptional workers in the Aesthetic Heritage Unit, for their exceptional efforts. And all experts from researchers, artists, academics, writers, and media professionals are encouraged to work in the heritage arena, in order to honor those who have preceded us of scholars and virtuous people."
After him, the calligrapher Dr. Rawdan al-Bahiya gave a speech on behalf of the present calligraphers, in which he expressed his thanks and appreciation to the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, and praised the efforts of the Department of Islamic and Human Knowledge Affairs in supporting international Arabic calligraphy, and especially in the establishment of this heritage exhibition.
The ceremony concluded with honoring the participating and present calligraphers as well as a number of satellite channels and news agencies.
