Al-Ata’ Factory for the production of construction materials is a purposeful economic initiative in the field of investment

The al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine tended to activate the investment aspect of the governorate of Karbala by adopting projects aimed at developing the economic sector in the city, including the project of the al-Ata’ factory for the production of construction materials.

The Head of the Engineering Projects Department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, Engineer Diaa Majeed al-Sa'egh, said, "The al-Ata' Factory, one of the facilities affiliated to the Engineering Projects Department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, represents an initiative in the investment of natural resources that abound in vast areas within the administrative borders of the Karbala Governorate."

He added, "This plant contributed significantly to providing construction materials that fall within the local economy support sector, as well as creating materials with good specifications within the parameters of the official regulatory bodies."

Al-Sa'egh continued, "The plant consists of several departments, at the forefront of which is the production department, which is directed by several lines, namely, the crushed gravel production line of two types, while the second is the washed sand production line. It also provides different types of sand material according to the approved specifications, including Iraqi and American specifications."

He explained: "There are other special lines that depend on the type of project such as roads and others, while the plant contains another line for the production of gravel and a production line for sifted sand," explaining "The project was launched to produce materials used in the manufacture of concrete or construction in general."

It is noteworthy that the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine had a clear impact on the urban campaign that the holy city of Karbala witnessed through its adoption of many urban projects.
