The opening of the activities of the fifteenth season of the Fatimi Sorrows Festival

The square between the Two Holy Shrines hosted this Thursday afternoon (Jumada al-Ula 11, 1443 AH) corresponding to December 16, 2021, the opening of the fifteenth edition of the Fatimi Sorrows Season Festival, which is held by the Department of Hussayni Rites, Processions and bodies in the two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them).
A number of officials of the two Holy Shrines attended the opening of the festival, as well as representatives from the parties, groups, bodies and processions of Karbala and a large number of visitors.
Sheikh Mohsen Al-Asadi and the poet Karar Hussein Al-Karbalai, presented an elegy followed by a speech by the Head of the Department of Hussayni Rites, Processions and Bodies, Haj Riad Ni'mah aal-Salman, through which he explained the greatness of this occasion and the importance of this festival linked to the martyrdom of Lady z-Zahra (peace be upon her), explaining That "the festival will continue for ten days, and a number of mourning activities will be held", noting that "its activities were previously limited to only one day, but we took the initiative to make the occasion of her martyrdom a mini Ashura season.”
The attendees toured the festival’s pavilions, accompanied by the head of the Hussayni rituals and processions department, Haj Riad Ni’mah al-Salman.
