The unified procession of the people of Karbala, commemorated the sad death anniversary of al-Qasem son of Imam Musa son of Ja'far al-Kadhem (peace be upon them), at his holy shrine in the city of al-Qasem in the province of Babylon, in cooperation and coordination with the Hussayni Rites and Processions Department of the Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) holy shrines, in glorification of the rites of God and stressing on the communication between the holy shrines.
The head of the aforementioned department, Haj Riyad Ni'mah al-Salman, told Al-Kafeel Network, "We commemorate this sad anniversary because it is one of the occasions that this procession has been holding, and the two holy shrines provided busses to transport the procession's participants. The shrine witnessed the influx of a number of mourning processions on this anniversary, and among those processions that had a remarkable presence is the procession of the people of Karbala. The department has worked to prepare all the organizational and coordination matters related to the performance of its rituals, and this is not the first time that it commemorates this occasion near his shrine, but rather on an ongoing basis every year, as it is a custom that the people of the province are accustomed to and inherited.”
And he stated: "A reception was organized for the procession, in the forefront of which was the special secretary and the servants of the shrine. The procession was in the form of groups, during its march the participants chanted elegies that embodied this memory, and when they entered the shrine's court, a condolence council was held by the recitation of a number of poems and elegies that embodied in their rhymes what happened to the followers of the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), including al-Qasem (peace be upon him), delivered by Radood Hussein al-Saghir al-Karbalai."
And he concluded: "The participation of the processions of the people of Karbala was not limited to the mourning aspect, but there was a service aspect, as hundreds of meals were distributed to mourners who came to the holy shrine to commemorate this memory."
It is noteworthy that dozens of mourning processions have flocked to this city to commemorate this anniversary, and there was an extensive attendance of service processions that were honored to provide their services to visitors.
