A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine announced that it had successfully performed a complex operation for a girl suffering from congenital colon paralysis, while confirming that the operation was performed according to modern methods and techniques.
Sarmad Al-Rubay'i, a specialist in pediatric surgery and pediatrics, said, "A medical team recently succeeded in performing a special operation for a 9-year-old girl, who was suffering from congenital colon paralysis and the presence of a fistula between the colon and the skin. She underwent more than one operation earlier, but her suffering did not end,” describing this condition as “special and complex, and it required careful study before deciding to perform the operation.”
Al-Rubay'i indicated that "the medical team explored the abdominal area, and then removed the damaged colon, and connected the healthy one with the anal canal as required, and liberated the strong adhesions in the intestines," noting that "this was done using modern technology and methods approved in accordance with modern international scientific standards."
Al-Rubay'i confirmed that "the child's health condition improved a lot after the operation, and she began to lead her life normally," expressing his thanks to "the anesthesia team and the staff of assistants who participated in the success of this special operation."
