Resection of a pancreatic tumor in a patient in his forties

A medical team specialized in general surgery and gastroenterology at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital announced that it had succeeded in removing a tumor from the pancreas of a patient in his forties, while noting the importance of the role of the available technologies in the operating theaters in the success of such operations.
The treating physician at the hospital, Dr. Muayyad al-Naqeeb, said, "Our medical team succeeded in removing a tumor from the pancreas of a 43-year-old patient," noting that "the entire tumor was removed with the mesentery of the large intestine and part of the main vein of the small intestine being removed."
"The patient has advanced pancreatic head cancer, with the tumor extending to the mesentery of the large intestine and the main vein of the small intestine," Al-Naqeeb explained.
He added, "Such operations are performed only in very few centers globally," noting that "the operation was successful and the patient left the hospital after five days, and he is in good health."
