The successes of cochlear implants for the hearing-impaired continue at Al-Kafeel Hospital

A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine succeeded in cochlear implantation for a hearing-impaired patient, revealing efforts to make the hospital a pioneer in these operations at the level of Iraq and the region.

The specialist in ear, nose and throat surgery at the hospital, the Lebanese doctor, Dr. Hisham al-Moussawi, said, "Our medical team recently succeeded in cochlear implantation for a hearing-impaired patient," explaining that "the techniques available in the hospital helped us achieve success with this specific and distinctive operation."

Al-Moussawi stressed that "the medical team strives to be the leading specialized hospital in the region with cochlear implants for the hearing-impaired, to spare the Iraqi patient from traveling outside the country to perform such operations," noting that "our presence in Iraq is to support doctors to achieve medical successes by investing in the technologies available in the hospital.”
