Staffs of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine participate in the development of one of the most important streets leading to it

The technical staff in the Department of Engineering Maintenance and Construction of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine took the first field steps for a project to develop and rehabilitate one of the most important streets leading to the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).

The street is the Republic Street, which starts from Bab Twayreej area to the intersection of the Qibla Street of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), part of which the department’s staff completed at an earlier time, and made it a model street that contributes to accommodating the numbers of visitors, and the flow of their movement, especially during the major Ziyarat seasons, especially the mourning procession of the Twayreej run.

The works undertaken by the staff of the Construction Machinery and Equipment Division in addition to the Construction Works Division, in cooperation with the Directorate of the Municipality of the Karbala Governorate, are implemented under the supervision of the Engineering Projects Department at the al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine. It included, according to the established plans and designs, the digging of service channels for the street, which includes the transmission lines of the systems supporting this project, such as electricity, lighting, communications and others, with six service lines and a length of (1200) meters as a first stage on both sides of the street, provided that the rest of the stages are proceeding successively."

These works are the basis for the project, by developing and rehabilitating the street, which falls within the development of the center of the old city and its important streets, because it is the identity of Karbala and its landmarks while preserving the title and heritage of the province, commensurate with its position in the hearts of Muslims.
