Tumor removal from the right kidney of a 9-month-old baby at the Al-Kafeel Network

A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital performed a qualitative operation in which a tumor was removed from the right kidney of a 9-month-old baby, and it was successful.

Dr. Sarmad al-Rubay'i, the head of the Iraqi medical team and a pediatric surgeon at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital, said: "With the grace of God, a qualitative surgery was performed on a 9-month-old baby, as he had a tumor in the right kidney," explaining that "the tumor is a Wilms' tumor, which is a second-degree type, was attached to the main blood vessels in the abdomen, extending down and into the right ureter."

Al-Rubay'i said, "The operation took an hour and a half and was successful after the entire tumor was removed, without bleeding or any other complications, and the baby is in good health and left the hospital one day after the operation."
