Hanging dozens of decorative lamps inside the Holy Shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) and the roads leading to it

The Electricity Division of the Engineering Maintenance and Construction Department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has announced that it has finished publishing a set of decorative lamps inside the courtyard of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) and its outer surroundings, in addition to the roads leading to it, in celebration of the advent of the blessed month of Sha'ban and the auspicious birth anniversaries.

The official of the aforementioned division, Engineer Muhammad Mustafa al-Taweel, told Al-Kafeel Network: “Based on the directives of the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine and the department’s presidency, to contribute to highlighting, showing and disseminating the features of decoration in all its forms and types, we started more than five days ago to prepare designs and implement them in the field with colors and geometric and chromatic shapes in the form of beautiful artistic paintings in a manner that reflects the atmosphere of joy on this occasion and shows the greatness of these occasions."

He added that "the work stages were according to a plan developed for this purpose, in which most of the division's staff participated, and it was as follows:

  • Carrying out comprehensive maintenance work for all the lamps in the Holy Shrine and replacing some of them and adding to them.
  • Making lamps' chains that were hung on the minarets of the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), extending from its highest point to the base of the minaret and surrounding it from all its sides.
  • Installing decorative lamps inside the Holy Shrine and on its outer wall.
  • Hanging a set of decorative lamps on the roads leading to the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him)."

Al-Taweel explained, “For the importance of the Qibla Street, we gave it extra attention, as a light panel was made at the end of the street, its length is (60) meters and its height is (3) meters, and it is equipped with more than (1500) decorative lamps. The births and dates of the occasions in this blessed month were written on it, and they are illuminated according to the date of each occasion."

And he added, "Series of light flyers were also hang on both sides of this street, in addition to installing (14) decorative light palms in the middle of the street, equipped with colored lamps in harmony with the surrounding light forms."

He concluded that "the colors of the lamps were distributed in artistic and beautiful forms to show the city in the most beautiful way during these happy occasions, and with decorative lighting that is controlled from the control room of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine. Noting that the blacksmithing division in our department played a role in helping our staff to complete some of these works."
