The Cataloging and Information Systems Center participates in the activities of an international symposium in Tunisia

The Center for Cataloging and Information Systems in the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine in the international electronic symposium entitled: (Documenting the Knowledge Heritage... The Challenges of Preservation and Re-employment), which was held in the Republic of Tunisia.
The Director of the Cataloging and Information Systems Center of the al-Abbas's Holy Shrine Library and Manuscripts House; Mr Hassanein Ahmed al-Mousawi, stated to the al-Kafeel Network: "The participation was in the axis: (the practices and tasks of heritage institutions) through a research entitled: (The role of heritage institutions in a study of the Manuscript Heritage Center: Cataloging and Information Systems of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine Library and Manuscripts House). The researcher Ali Talib Kadhem al-'Ardawi and researcher Mustafa Youssef Hussein, who work at the Center for Cataloging and Information Systems, participated in the preparation of this research."
He added, "The main objective of these studies is to emphasize the indexing of manuscripts according to modern international rules and regulations, and the facilities produced by heritage institutions capable of providing basic requirements for researchers and investigators, by employing all human resources and work tools necessary to achieve this."
He concluded, "The study also aimed to introduce the center and the role of the institution, which is one of the most prominent Iraqi heritage institutions that contribute to the preservation of the manuscript heritage and the national identity, because it possesses an ancient heritage treasure replete with rare and precious manuscripts and documents."
