Medical team at Al-Kafeel Hospital ends patient suffering from spinal deviation

A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital ended the suffering of a young woman from spinal deviation, while the specialist doctor explained that the rate of deviation was high.

"We received a 15-year-old girl suffering from spinal deviation, and after reviewing the tests it was found that the deviation rate is 95%,"said Syrian doctor Wael Qassem.

"The deviation affected the breathing functions and caused a severe curvature of the girl, which affected her psychologically and made her leave the school because of negative comments from her fellow students," he added.

"We decided to have an operation to modify the spine under the spinal cord monitoring device," he said, noting that "the modification was done by more than 95%", and the spine surgery specialist confirmed that "the equipment available in the hospital inside the operating room and intensive care, allowed us to complete such quality operations".
