Cleaning works of the holy dome of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him)

On the evening of the twenty-fifth day of the holy month of Ramadhan, the staff of the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) began washing and cleaning the Holy Dome of the Shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).

The official of the Courtyard Division in the aforementioned Department, Mr. Riyad Khudair Hassan, stated to Al-Kafeel Network that "cleaning works are held periodically, and this time came after the waves of dust to which the dome was exposed, in addition to special preparations for the reception of Eid al-Fitr, which contributes to the preservation and perpetuation of its luster, and showing it in the most beautiful and exquisite suit worthy of the sanctity of the owner of the holy shrine".

He added that "the cleaning works are carried out according to a plan developed by the department in line with weather conditions and climate fluctuations, which may affect the shine and luster of the gold tiles that cover the dome, and to maintain their life so they are not eroded by these conditions".

He explained that "the cleaning works are carried out using special cleaning materials and equipment that do not affect the golden tiles of the dome, and all this is done taking into account the factor of time and accuracy in the work, and the first stage of cleaning began from the eastern side opposite the Euphrates gate (Al-‘Alqami), counter clockwise and from top to bottom, i.e. from the base of the banner of the Holy Dome to the bottom of the dome".
