The activities of the Al-Kafeel National Youth Forum for Artificial Intelligence and Robot Applications, organized by the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine through the University Relations Division of its public relations department, for university and preparatory students in the country in coordination with the ministries of higher education and education, began on Wednesday morning at the edifice of Al-Ameed University.
The forum, the first of its kind in Iraq, was attended by the secretary-general of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, Sayed Mustafa Murtadha Dea-Uddin, a number of members of its board of directors and heads of its departments, in addition to delegations and University, academic and research personalities as well as representatives of the minister of higher education and scientific research and the Minister of Education.
This was followed by a speech by the general secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine delivered by Dr. Nawras Shahid al-Dahan president of Al-Kafeel University.
This was followed by a speech by the Ministry of higher education and scientific research delivered by the director of the Department of studies, planning and follow-up, Dr. Ihab Naji, in which he explained that "it is not strange for the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine to hold this forum, which aims to shed light on the outputs of university and school students, discover the energies and talents, support them and develop them in the service of the country", noting that "this approach in sponsoring artificial intelligence will move the wheel of reconstruction and raise productive capacity in all sectors, reduce costs and create new job opportunities.”
Then came the speech of the Ministry of education delivered by Mr. Mardan al-Badiri.
The attendees then headed to the opening of the specialized workshop on artificial intelligence and robot applications for students of Iraqi universities and schools, which was managed by Dr. Yousef Khalaf, Director of pilot projects at the Ministry of higher education and scientific research.
After that, the exhibition of the products of the students participating in the forum, was opened, including technical devices and equipment from their ideas, which they were able to translate on the ground.
It is noteworthy that the extent of interaction was great by universities and directorates of education, through the type and quantity of products participating in this forum, where the number of participating universities was (42) universities and (12) departments of education from different governorates, which generated an incentive for those parties to attend its events in addition to giving speeches at the opening ceremony.
