Eleventh anniversary of the launch of Baqi Gharqad website

These days are the eleventh anniversary of the launch of the first specialized website in the World Wide Web space, marked by (Baqi Gharqad), through the network and Information Technology Division of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine Information Department.

The site, which is one of the most important sites belonging to the Al-Kafeel Global Network (the official site of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine), was launched in 1432 AH in conjunction with the eighty-eighth anniversary of the tragedy of the demolition of the graves and shrines of the imams of al-Baqi (peace be upon them), and came to contribute to shed light on this tragedy and terrible crime.

The official opening of the site was held at the courtyard of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), attended by the Senior Official of the al-Abbas’s (p) holy shrine -the secretary-general at the time- His Eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, representatives of the offices of religious authorities in Najaf, as well as representatives of the holy shrines and a number of religious, cultural, academic and media figures.

The site came as a contribution from the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, to shed light on the tragedy of the demolition of the graves of the imams of al-Baqi and what has happened and is happening on them, and to open a window that allows everyone to see this holy place from anywhere in the world.
