Photographers of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine win prizes in international photography competition

The photographers of the Media Department of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine won three awards in the second international competition (step), organized by the holy shrine in cooperation with the International Federation of graphic arts and the Iraqi society of photography, in which (1236) photographers from (76) countries participated with more than (10490) photographic works.

The photographer Haider al-mankoshi won the first place in the competition on the axis (steps to God), through his light shot (our souls and bodies are walking to you, Hussein), which embodied part of the eternal journey of Arba’een, combined in its content, composition and artistic dimension imagination mixed with the love of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) with reality translated by the feet of visitors, as they urge the steps towards the shrine of the master of martyrs (peace be upon him).

There was also another award and badge of appreciation (ISP) for the axis of Islamic architecture, which was through a night image of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), in which he combined his majestic dome and its two great minarets with the domes of the roof of the holy courtyard, and was combined with a photographic reflection to give this shot a wonderful artistic addition.

The third prize of this competition was awarded to the professional photographer Ali al-Saadi, whose camera captured a picture of the Rakdhat Twayreej condolence ritual in the square between the Two Holy Shrines, as they headed from the shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) towards the shrine of his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), in the middle of a black flag written in red (O Hussein), where this shot won the gold medal for the axis (steps to God).

On this occasion, the media department of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, represented by its chairman, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Abbas Ma’an, congratulated this achievement, stressing that "the holy shrine represented by the grace of its Senior Official and its general secretariat will be supportive of such efforts, and it is not strange that the photographers of our department have won these awards, they are always the creative, and we are happy to congratulate them and invite them to be in such competitions, and we will be always supporting them".

It is noteworthy that this competition is one of the important international competitions, which sees wide participation by international photographers, and is held for the second year, noting that the competition was strong among the participants.
