Late on Sunday evening, an extensive campaign was conducted to wash the holy sanctuary and courtyard of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), in addition to furnishing them with a set of luxurious carpets.

Assistant head of the Department of the holy courtyard; Mr. Zain al-Abidin al-Quraishi, said that "the works were carried out according to each section of the holy shrine, starting from its gates to the holy sanctuary. Starting by removing the furnished carpets a while ago, and then beginning by the washing and cleaning work".

He added, "As soon as the drying of the water was completed, a set of carpets of different measurements was put on an area of one thousand square meters, and its luxurious colors and texture came in harmony with the carpets in the Holy Sanctuary on the one hand, and with the decorations inspired by the inscriptions and decorations of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, to conclude the work by returning the contents of the courtyard such as the separations, holders of books and others, to become ready to receive visitors.”

The official of the Holy Sanctuary Division, Haj Nizar Ghani Ali, stated to Al-Kafeel Network that "the Holy Sanctuary is witnessing continuous washing and perpetuation work around the clock, but in the case of replacing carpet sets, we conduct an expanded campaign such as we had recently, and before the start of work the entrances to the sanctuary are closed and we perform the Ziyarat rituals collectively, seeking the permission to start these works, which included removing the old carpets and starting with cleaning, starting from the holy grid and the surrounding areas to the four pavilion and their walls, to conclude the work with putting 94 carpets of different sizes and luxury qualities".

"In the cleaning work, we used special materials that help maintain the luster of the Holy Sanctuary and its holy grid, and remove any dirt that may affect its shape, to conclude the work by perfuming and re-furnishing the carpet according to the location of each carpet, and according to the measurements taken in advance," he added.

It is noteworthy that the previously furnished carpets were packed according to the measurement of each piece of carpet, and sent to the washing plant of the carpets of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, to be used in sites belonging to it or stored for future use again.
