The Arab Organization for administrative development looks forward to enhancing joint work with the Library and the House of Manuscripts of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine

The Department of relations and events management at the Arab Organization for administrative development at the league of Arab states in Cairo, Egypt, received a delegation from the Library and House of Manuscripts of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, affiliated to its Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department, on the sidelines of the administrative experiences and practices Forum held by the organization under the title (management of heritage institutions).

The head of the delegation and the assistant of the Heritage Revival Center at the library, Mr. Hussein Halib Najm, stated to Al-Kafeel Network, "the visit was at the invitation of the head of the department in the organization, following the participation and active attendance at the forum of the Arab Organization for administrative development, to listen and see the mechanisms of the Library and the House of Manuscripts of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, and its unique and rare experience to keep pace with the development in the field of library and heritage preservation, digital methods and modern technology in this field".

He added, "the delegation was received by the head of the relations and events management department at the organization, Dr. Dalia Nassar, and we talked about a number of axes, the most important of which was to review a comprehensive definition of the Library and the House of Manuscripts at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, the centers it contains and the work and specialization of each of them, such as modern indexing, digitization, photocopying manuscripts, restoration and heritage preservation mechanisms, and the steps it has taken in this field in addition to the published works and methods of achieving them".

He also continued, "We discussed also the library competencies in all office joints, and how these experiences were acquired through high-level scientific and practical courses and workshops, so that it became able and knowledgeable to provide its consorts with the information it possesses, and all that is issued and provided is free of charge, a contribution from the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine to preserve the intellectual and cultural heritage and expand the number of its beneficiaries".

"Dr. Dalia expressed that there is a desire to strengthen and open the horizons of cooperation and joint work, because of the seriousness of the library’s work, and in the coming days she will send proposals for plans to enhance this cooperation, and in turn we will submit them to the relevant authorities to decide on them, which will include holding workshops, courses, forums, lectures and other activities and events that contribute to the advancement of libraries’ work,"Halib said.

"The conclusion of our visit was to conduct a tour with the head of the department to all the joints of the organization, from its office halls, conference rooms and departments, and we were briefed on their training plans, activities and events," he concluded.
