The Maqam of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance) is furnished with a new carpet set

The Maqam of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance) in the province of Karbala witnessed many works, where there was an extensive campaign to clean all his joints in addition to furnishing it with a new set of carpets, in conjunction with the birth anniversary of Imam ar-Redha (peace be upon him).

The head of the Maqam Department of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, Mr. Adnan al-Dha’eef, stated to Al-Kafeel Network, "based on the directives of His Eminence the Senior Official of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and its General Secretariat, and because it this holy place is one of the places visited by the visitors after they performing the two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), the staff of the department has started several works, which are originally continuous, but such extended works are from time to time".

He added, "We started these works by removing the old carpet, packing it and sending it to the carpet washing Laboratory of the holy shrine, then cleaning main halls of the shrine and its corridors including the floor with the walls after closing the doors of its sanctuary. After completing these works, we started with a new set of carpets except for the women's Hall, which will be furnished at a later stage, and this came in conjunction with furnishing the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him)".

"The carpets were distributed according to the spaces which measurements were taken in advance. These carpets are of luxurious quality and in colors similar to the carpets of the courtyard of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), so that its doors will be open to receive visitors, in a way that contributes to the performance of their work and their devotional rituals from the vicinity of the Maqam of their awaited Imam (peace be upon him)".
