Adding new spaces to serve visitors within the vicinity of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine

The technical and engineering staffs at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine have started their works of demolishing old buildings that the shrine previously owned, and investing their space to serve visitors.

The supervisor of these works, Mr. Hussein al-Shahristani, said that "the demolition of the buildings is part of an earlier stage that was completed, so its area is adjacent to the outer wall of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, and opposite to the north-eastern side of the holy shrine".

He added that "the demolition of the buildings is carried out after completely emptying them of their contents, to then proceed with the demolition work, which was carried out following a technical method, taking into account the principle of public safety, accuracy in implementation and taking into account hot weather conditions".

It is noteworthy that the work of adding spaces has come in order to contribute to absorbing the human momentum taking place in this space, and increasing the carrying capacity of the numbers of visitors, especially on the days of the major Ziyarat, which witness a heavy crowd of visitors, which affects the performance of their devotional work and their Ziyarat in case they are unable to enter the Holy Shrine.
