A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital announced the success of a knee arthroplasty surgery for a man who has been injured for years, while the Attending Physician stressed the need for early diagnosis of the knee joint.
"We performed knee arthroplasty surgery on a 47-year-old patient, as it turned out that the patient was injured in a traffic accident years ago, and underwent two surgeries to treat the joint," said arthroplasty specialist Dr. Ahmed Suleiman.
He added that" the warp in the knee joint was by (16) degrees, and we were able to adjust it by the operation to (18) degrees to be straight, "explaining, "the operation was done in the manner of a small wound, and the results were good, as the patient will be able to walk in two months".
Dr. Suleiman pointed out that" this operation enables the joint to work for more than twenty years, "calling on patients "suffering from arthrosis in the knee, to perform orthopedic operations because they are long-term, stressing the need for early detection of such injuries".
