On the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Mohammad al-Baqer (peace be upon him), the condolences' procession of the servants of the two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) began on Thursday afternoon the 7th of Dhu al-Hijjah.
It is a tradition that the servants of the two holy shrines used to hold in commemoration of the birth and martyrdom of the Imams (peace be upon them), a number of the visitors of these holy sites participate with them.
The beginning of the procession started as usual from the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), led by some members of Board of Directors of the holy shrine and its officials marching towards the holy shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) through the central square between the two holy shrine.
When they entered the holy sanctuary of the Master of the youth of Paradise; Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), they were received by the servants of the holy shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), a Council of condolences was then held in the Imam al-Hussayn's holy shrine, and elegies were chanted in reverence for this sad occasion, and during their procession march, the participants were chanting lamentations that embody the tragedy of the martyrdom of Imam al-Baqer (peace be upon him).
It is noteworthy that the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has declared mourning and was covered with black, black flags were raised and a number of banners were hung, on which was written some of the Hadiths and words of wisdom of the Imam (peace be upon him). The holy shrine has also prepared suitable places for giving religious lectures about his biography, his oppression and the injustice that fell on him and on his supporters and followers from his enemies and haters.
