Poetic evening to celebrate Eid al-Ghadeer at the square between the two holy shrines

The square between the shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them) hosted a festive forum to commemorate the Eid al-Ghadeer, in which the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) was crowned as a prince and Caliph over the Muslims, and in this occasion, Allah Almighty revealed to our Holy Prophet (Allah’s prayers be upon him) the verse of [Tableegh/reporting] for its great importance.

The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran recited by the reader Mohammad Redha al-Sarraf, and witnessed a wide presence and interaction by visitors of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them) on this occasion, amid an atmosphere of joy and happiness.

A group of Hussayni Radoods and poets participated in this celebrations, including Radood Hussein Abu Shu’ayr al-Karbalai, the poet Firas al-Asadi al-Karbalai, Radood Hussein Sabah al-Karbalai, the poet Haider al-Muallem al-Karbalai and Radood Hussein al-‘Geyli al-Karbalai, all of whom sang about the love of the Commander of the Faithful’ Ali ibn Abi Taleb (peace be upon him) and the infallible imams (peace be upon them), as well as with the love of Iraq, in addition to the joyful popular chants that crowned the ceremony.

The celebration, which was managed by Hassan al-Najjar, included the recitation of many religious stanzas [tawasheeh], which words carried the blessing of this occasion and prayers that goodness and peace prevail throughout the country of Imam Ali (peace be upon him).
