The Holy Quran Institute in Najaf celebrates the graduation of 13 thousand students

The Institute of the Holy Quran in Najaf Al-Ashraf, affiliated to the scientific complex of the Holy Quran at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, held this Wednesday afternoon, the closing ceremony of its summer Quranic courses in the province of Najaf Al-Ashraf, which was attended by 13 thousand students from buds and young people who received over forty-five days, lessons in jurisprudence, ethics, doctrine, biography and in the Holy Quran.

The celebration was held in the Great Mosque of Kufa in the Courtyard of Muslim Ibn Aqeel (peace be upon him), in the presence of the member of the board of Directors of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Laith al-Mousawi, and several of its servants, as well as a large gathering of participants in the courses and their parents.

After reciting verses from the Holy Quran, there was a speech by the head of the scientific complex of the Holy Quran, Professor Mushtaq al-Ali, in which he explained: "the aim of these Quranic courses that consolidate Islamic values and the true faith of the children and youth, especially in light of the multiplicity of contemporary challenges from the social networking sites".

He added that "the Apostolic institutions with a religious authority dimension such as the holy shrines, especially the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, which has worked to activate new ways to restore man to his proper nature, through educational and awareness-raising curricula targeting various segments of society".

"The number of student participants in this year's courses held by the two institutes of the Holy Quran affiliated to the scientific complex of the Holy Quran at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine is more than forty-two thousand students from different governorates," al-Ali said.

"These courses and similar Quranic programs work to lift the rust from the hearts of people, especially the future youth who have been involved in these projects," al-Ali said.

In his speech, the director of the institute, Mr. Muhannad al-Mayali, stressed the importance of "these courses to teach young and emerging boys the origins of religion and its branches, the correct foundations of the teachings of the true Islamic religion, and to immunize them against the dangers and challenges of the Times, technology, Games, cultural and intellectual invasion to influence the behavior of the individual and society".

He added that "the closing ceremony of the summer Quranic courses is scheduled to be held in the province of Maysan tomorrow, Thursday the twenty-first of July, and in Wasit and Diwaniya on the twenty-fifth and twenty-seventh, respectively.

The ceremony included activities for talented students and a blessed recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by an event for the band (Abu al-'Aynayn Sh'eysha') from the students of the Prince of Readers national project, chanting the oath of allegiance to the awaited Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance), pledging to follow the path of infallible imams (peace be upon them) and adhering to their values and morals.

It is noteworthy that the summer Quranic courses were launched this year on the first of last June, in four provinces, namely Najaf Ashraf, Diwaniyah, Wasit and Maysan, where more than thirteen thousand students were enrolled in three hundred and fifty courses.
