The launch of the activities of the first international scientific conference of supporters of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him)

This Thursday morning, under the auspices of the Al-Abbas's(p) holy shrine the activities of the first international scientific conference for supporters of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) were launched in the Imam al-Hassan Hall.

The conference is organized by the Al-Ameed scientific and intellectual Association and the Al-Kafeel and Al-Ameed Universities under the slogan: (I do not know friends better than my supporters), and the title (supporters of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) glow of life), and will last for two days.

The opening events witnessed the presence of several members of the board of Directors of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and its officials, as well as delegations and personalities representing many parties from inside and outside Iraq.

After reciting verses from the Holy Quran by the reader Sayed Hassanein al-Hilu, followed by reading Surah Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, and then listening to the national anthem and the hymn of the Holy Shrine (the melody of pride).

This was followed by the speech of the general secretariat of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, delivered by the Deputy member of its board of Directors, Professor Dr. Abbas Rashid al-Mousawi.

Then a poem of vertical poetry was recited by the poet Ali al-Saffar al-Karbalai.

The first research session chaired by Prof. Dr. Sarhan Jaffat Salman, which witnessed the reading of the summaries of three research papers:

- Abdullah Ibn Afif al-Azdi biography and positions, by the researcher Prof. Dr. Abdul Khaliq Khamis Ali.

- The companion Anas Ibn al-Harith al-Kahli - may Allah be pleased with him-a study in his biography and conditions, by researcher A.M.Dr. Salam Jabbar Munshed and researcher Zainab Rahman Mohammed Saeed.

- Historical dimensions in the sermon of the martyr Zuhair Ibn al-Qayn al-Bajali - may Allah be pleased with him- on the day of Ashura, by researcher A.M.Dr. Fadel Kadhem Sadiq al-Abadi.

It is hoped that the conference activities will resume in the second research session this afternoon.
