The final touches for the opening of the basement of Imam al-Jawad (peace be upon him) at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine

The Engineering Projects Department at the Al-Abbas's(p) holy shrine has begun finalizing the opening of the basement of Imam al-Jawad (peace be upon him), on the nirth side of the courtyard of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), dedicated to serving its female visitors, with an area of 1000 square meters.

"The final works of this vital and important project, which is one of the service projects within the holy shrine, included the work of glazing the ceiling with colored and artistically cut glass," said the head of the aforementioned Department, engineer Dia Majeed al-Sa'egh, to the Al-Kafeel Network.

"The works also included covering the floor and walls with pieces of imported alabaster, as well as making marble figures, inscriptions and decorations on the walls of the basement, dedicating some of them to be places for storing the Holy Qur'an, books of supplications, Ziyarat and Turbahs," he added.

He explained, "the basement was decorated in its upper part between the wall and the ceiling with a Quranic inscription that surrounded all its sides, and it was written using the Thuluth font by the calligraphy teacher Ahmad Naji".

Al-Sa'egh explained that "the basement was provided with an integrated cooling system linked with the system of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in an artistic and professional way, to create a suitable atmosphere, as well as provided with systems for (ventilation – lighting – electricity – alarm and fire – monitoring - acoustics)".

"The completion of this space, which will be followed in the coming days by the addition of another space from the basement of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), will contribute to reducing the momentum in the courtyard of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), and provide a suitable and appropriate atmosphere for women to perform their Ziyarat rituals and acts of worship," Al-Sa'egh concluded.
