The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine launches the event of honoring female students wearing abayas on university campus

This Thursday afternoon, the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine held the activities of the first day of the program of honoring and celebrating students wearing the Iraqi abaya inside the university campus in the province of Babylon in its sixth edition.

The ceremony, which witnessed the presence of several members of the board of Directors of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and its officials, in addition to a number of parents of the students, began by reciting verses from the Holy Quran and then reading Surah Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, followed by listening to the national anthem and the hymn of the holy shrine.

Then came the speech of the general secretariat of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, delivered by the member of its board of Directors, Prof. Dr. Abbas Rashid al-Mousawi, praising and encouraging the female students in wearing the Iraqi Abaya as a noble position by standing in the face of the serious behavioral challenges, and those manifestations that have begun to sweep the campus.

This was followed by a speech delivered by Mr. Ahmed Ghani al-Zamili, in which he thanked "the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and its Senior Official; his eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi and its general secretariat, for their support for this project, which is honored to bear the name of the example of chastity and the role model of the honorable; Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her)".

He pointed out that "the Abaya Zaynabiyah project has exceeded the borders of Babylon and Karbala, to include most of our dear provinces, and let a gathering (group) emerge with this name, including our girls wearing the Abaya, and we were keen that it be a cultural gathering in which weekly lectures are given by most of respected scholars, including courses to learn the correct reading of the Holy Quran, and intellectual, ideological and educational competitions, so that the number of female students in this blessed gathering reached 6000 students, and special groups emerge from it in all universities and another group in Kuwait and Syria".

"We aspire through the efforts of the brothers to develop this work, which has turned from a plant watered by the palms of the master Aba al-Fadl (peace be upon him), to a tree that includes our daughters throughout this country, which soil was honored by the prophets and guardians,"he concluded.

Then the poet Ali al-Saffar al-Karbalai took the stage to recite a poem, In addition to religious stanzas by the vocalist Mohammed Amir Tamimi.

It is hoped that the events will resume tomorrow, Friday, to complete the honoring of the second group.

The celebration was preceded by a group visit by the female students to the shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them).

It is noteworthy that this celebration was organized by the University and School Relations Division of the public relations department at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, in cooperation with the Office of the Senior Official of women's Affairs and the division of Al-Kafeel women's religious schools, with the support of a number of departments of the holy shrine.
