As part of preparations and the continuous work in the holy month of Muharram, the Department of the Care of the Holy Courtyard at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine completed furnishing the shrine's courtyard of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) with a red carpet on an area of 10000 square meters, including all its parts and main entrances.
This carpet covered the entire area of the holy courtyard, as well as the entrances of its gates, in order to preserve the rugs of the shrine on the one hand and on the other hand to facilitate the passage of processions of condolences and visitors, which are witnessing an increase in their numbers.
"As part of the preparations and work entrusted to our department, to receive the Ashura mourning season, visitors and Hussayni condolence processions, one of these works was furnishing the holy courtyard with the red carpet which are conducted annually on such days," Zain al-Abidin Al-Quraishi, assistant head of the mentioned department, stated to Al-Kafeel Network.
"We conducted these works late at night taking advantage of the low number of visitors at this time, where we initially started packing the furnished carpets and sending them to the carpet washing factory of the holy shrine, to then do the cleaning work and put a layer of nylon under the red carpet by the amount of its area," Al-Quraishi said.
He explained that"the furnishin works included the holy courtyard and the gates leading to it, in addition to its main entrances, and we followed the thermal adhesive method to glue the carpet pieces together, to ensure that they do not slip or move to become one piece".
It is noteworthy that the courtyard care department, like the rest of the departments of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, all its staff have been mobilized for several days to receive the visitors, mourners and the Hussayni processions, which number is increasing to reach its peak on the tenth of Muharram in the ritual of Rakdhat [the run of] Twayreej in which millions participate. For this purpose, all the department's staff were put on full alert, and a group of volunteers came in order to assist in the work of the department that is greater in this period.
