The Al-Abbas's (P) holy shrine adds 1,700 square meters to serve visitors

The Engineering Maintenance and Construction Department of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has completed the rehabilitation of an area of (1700) square meters at the service of visitors, to be added to the rest of the other spaces that were rehabilitated in previous times, so the visitors would have larger space to perform their work and worship ceremonies, especially in the seasons of major Ziyarat, including the Ziyarat of the tenth of Muharram.

The added space replaced the buildings that were removed next to the outer wall of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, within the confined space between the Euphrates [al-'Alqami] gate and the gate of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) - Bab al-Kaf -, opposite them from the north-eastern side of the holy shrine.

The works included preparing the floor, leveling it and covering it with Muqarnas material, installing pieces of kerbstone for paving the street adjacent to it, in addition to isolating it to ensure its privacy.

The staff of the engineering maintenance and construction department has made exceptional efforts to complete these works, despite the weather conditions and high temperature.

An area of this space has been allocated to conserve water, which will be distributed to visitors during the Ziyarat of the tenth of Muharram, and the other part is dedicated to serving visitors to perform their religious rituals.
