The first steps of the Hussayni March of Love

Al-Faw district in Basra province witnessed this Saturday the launch of the first steps towards the Holy city of Karbala, to commemorate the Ziyarta Arba'een of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).

To mark the beginning of the walkers 'journey to the lovers' Qiblah, a festival (from the sea to the grave) was held in Ras al-Bisha for the tenth consecutive year, organized by the ritual foundation of the Office of the late religious authority Sayed Mohammad Saeed al-Hakeem, in cooperation with the Hussayni bodies and processions in Basra, as well as government agencies and the people of al-Faw district.

The festival was attended by many clerics, official and social figures, and a gathering of visitors who will travel (675 km) to reach the holy city of Karbala.

The Ras al-Bisha area in Basra is the southernmost point in Iraq, from which visitors set off on foot every year, to the shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them) in Karbala, to commemorate the Ziyarat Arba'een in the twentieth of the month of Safar.
