The Ninth Annual International Scientific Conference of the Thought of Imam al-Hassan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) started on Wednesday morning at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.
The conference is held under the auspices of the general secretariats of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them), and is held by the supreme authority of the Hillah project, the city of Imam al-Hassan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him), the University of Babylon, the Al-Ameed Scientific and Intellectual Association, and the Al-Kafeel and Al-Ameed Universities.
The opening ceremony of the conference, which was held under the title: (Imam al-Hassan -peace be upon him - in the face of historical misinformation), began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the reader of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine Ammar al-Hilli, followed by reading Surah Al-Fatiha in memory of the righteous martyrs of Iraq and listening to the national anthem and the anthem of the holy shrine (the melody of pride).
This was followed by the speech of the general secretariat of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, delivered by Dr. Ahmed Sheikh Ali, in which he explained that "the outcomes of this international conference in the past and what will come, represent a victory for the truth and its purification of the history that has been violated, which only blind nervousness and deaf hostility stand behind it".
He added, "how great is this blessed uprising to which you have been invited, and how blessed is your efforts as you restore and fill the gaps with what has been removed from the body of truth and remove suspicions".
The speech of the preparatory committee for the conference was followed by a speech by the dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Babylon, Prof. Saleh al-Jabouri, in which he said, "for more than a decade, the Higher Committee for the Hillah City project of Imam al-Hassan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) has been sponsoring this conference and research competition under the auspices of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them) and their affiliated centers in cooperation with the University of Babylon".
Al-Jabouri continued," the scientific committee received research from outside Iraq, of which seven research papers were accepted, two from Lebanon, one from India, two from Palestine, one from Tunisia, and two from Egypt, " explaining, "the scientific committee received 53 scientific papers in total, 43 of which were distributed on several axes, the literary, historical, media, ideological and ethical linguistic axis."
The ceremony included a speech by engineer Hassan al-Hilli, through which he thanked the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, stating "these events culminated in the fact that the Hilla will be called the city of Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him) and witness festivals related to his heritage, and we aspire to establish a large library as well" .
"Thanks to the support of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine represented by His Eminence the Senior Official Ahmad al-Safi, the General Secretariat and the board of directors, we have reached the fifteenth edition of the birth festival, which is held in the middle of the month of Ramadhan, the ninth edition of the scientific conference and the third of the festival of memorizing the sermons of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him)."
The ceremony witnessed a poetic passage by the poet Mohammed al-Fatimi, to conclude the ceremony with the opening of the research sessions of the conference.
