A patient regains the straightness of her spine through a distinctive operation at Al-Kafeel Hospital

A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital treated a young patient suffering from severe spinal curvature through a qualitative operation in which she regained the straightness of her spine.

The specialist of spine surgery at the hospital, the Syrian doctor Dr. Wael Qassem, " we recently successfully treated an 18-year-old girl who suffers from severe spinal curvature and was unable to stand up straight like normal people."

According to Qassem, the patient was admitted to the operation room after studying her condition for a surgical operation that lasted about 6 hours, during which the deviation was adjusted using vertebral fixation and cutting off part of the spine to make the adjustment.

According to Qasim, these operations need special techniques to be performed, and all of them are available at Al-Kafeel hospital, including the spinal cord monitoring device, which has a very large role in the operation, through which we can maintain the integrity of the spinal cord.

He pointed out the great role of the medical and nursing team and anesthesiologists in restoring her health status quickly, and that the patient was able to stand on her feet and walk within a short period.
