The staff of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine begin dismantling the old grid of the shrine of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her)

The staff of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine have started dismantling the pieces of the old grid of the shrine of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her), in preparation for the installation of the new grid.

"Our technical staff started carrying out the dismantling works, the first of which was the dismantling of the grid roof and its crown, which we were honored to manufacture previously," said Mr. Kadhem Obada, supervisor of the Department of manufacturing grids and doors of shrines.

He added that "the dismantling works were carried out in the presence and participation of a number of members of the board of Directors of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, and started with metal pieces from the top of the grid to the bottom, and then we started with the metal-bearing wooden parts".

Regarding the dismantling mechanism, Obada explained that" the work of dismantling the metal parts mounted on the wooden structure will be according to each piece, taking into account preserving them from any damage that may occur as a result of the dismantling works, "pointing out that "they are then numbered with special digital codes according to each piece and placed in a warehouse allocated for this purpose, and the disassemblers -the same staff who manufactured it - took care to disassemble any part or piece.

With regard to the specifications of the upper ceiling and the crown, he explained that "the length of the upper ceiling is (4.3 m), while its width is (3.11 m), and several metals were used in its manufacture, including gold, silver and copper, as well as Burmese wood from which the wooden structure carrying inscriptions and decorations was made, and the amount of gold used is estimated at (2 kg)".
