The work of dismantling the old grid of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her) has reached advanced stages

The staff of the Department for the manufacture of shrines' grids and doors at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine continue the work of dismantling parts and pieces of the old grid of the shrine of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her), where the work has reached advanced stages.

"The dismantling works included the metal parts mounted on the wooden structure of the grid according to each piece, taking into account their preservation from any damage that may occur as a result of the dismantling works, because the parts are old and some of them are corroded, and their installation method was primitive, they are firmly fixed by special screws," said Mr. Kadhem Obada, supervisor of the mentioned Department and a member of the holy shrine's Board of directors.

He added that "the dismantling works that we have reached now included most of the metal parts of the grid, which we started with the upper roof and the crown of the grid to move on to the decorative frieze, down to the knotworks, side and corner columns".

"There are other works being carried out in parallel with these works, which are from inside the grid, and include dismantling the internal parts and their decorations, in addition to moving the ring box placed inside the grid," Obada said.

"We then number the pieces with special digital codes according to each piece, then they are wrapped with plastic strips and a piece of cloth and placed inside boxes made according to the measurement of each part and piece, and another number and code is placed on the box to then be transferred to the stores of the holy shrine of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her)," he said.

Obada pointed out that "the work is being carried out with precision and extreme professionalism, to ensure the preservation of all the pieces and parts of the grid, and the time set for these works is in fact less than the specified time period".
